Award winning technology to make text easier to read, modify contrast, remove distracting content from websites and more!
I’m disabled, and need help to read. I'll just cut to the chase, I'll be reviewing facts not opinions. FYI, I can only understand English. Is it actually free: Yes Does it work?: Yes, very well. What the voices like: Basic Microsoft English voices, Along with the standard Google Multilingual TTS. Other Languages: Yes Control over the voice (Pitch, Speed, Ect?): You are able to change the speed as well as change the exact color for the highlighted test. Can I pause: No, however, you read by hovering the mouse over the test. _Can it read_ Google docs: No Wikipedia:Yes Gmail: No AO3: Yes Is it as Advertised: For the majority, Yes, There is a multitude of functions provided, and is quite accurate to what the description provides. However, “With over 200 voice settings,” Is not true. At least from what I can see, there are 25 voices. And “There is tons of room to personalize!” The only thing for personalization is the speed. It also tends to not work on certain selections of text, however they are aware of this issue. Why the stars? Considering that this provides so many functions without a paywall is a rare find. It gives the user the ability to have exact control over colors, sizes, tints, and text. Even with the limited text options, It still reads. As well as the reading function being the fastest I've seen. The hover function isn't infuriating or a struggle, its instinct. The setup works very well for researching new topics, but I wouldn't suggest it for story reading. (How to fix) My recommendation: The only issue with this application is the interface. It needs some polishing. The application window is a tad small, I believe this could be fixed with providing some application settings. As for the customization of text to speech I would recommend applying a test button. Lastly during my testing I found that, when customizing colors, the change would not happen until flicked on and off again. I'm unaware if this is a bug, but it's something of note.
Although I enabIed all features, it didnt activate :(
Love this in Chrome as it makes my web-based work software much easier to read (I have retinal damage in both eyes caused by a brain tumor several years ago). I only wish it was also a Firefox extension as I use Firefox for almost all non-work internet stuffs, hence four stars.
