Provides a random gravatar for websites missing a favicon.
Scroll down and read the review written by Tracy Cooper Jr on Apr 30, 2018 to learn how to make this extension work. Basically this extension only works on http sites, not https sites. And 99.99999% of all sites are https. So this extension does not work. But if you are smart enough and can follow those instructions, you can get it working. I got it working. It's a painful process though. The extensions folder is really difficult to get to and find. Then once you find it, you have to make a copy and place the copy somewhere else, and make sure the copy never gets deleted. Then edit the copy. Really, the edit only takes two seconds to make so I wish the developer had just updated his extension instead of leaving a broken one on the Chrome Web Store. Other than that complaint, I think that the favicons are a bit of an ugly eye sore. They look nooby and could look better. I thought that the extension only replaced the tab favicon, but I guess that it will replace the bookmark favicon too. That's a good thing. Just might take a while to update. So that's why I bumped it from a two star review to three stars. UPDATE: Even after the "fix", it doesn't work on some sites. I just went to "https://deposits.jailatm.com/" and the extension does nothing.
only works on sites that are not https
It works but I had to make one change for it to work on https sites. Copy the extension directory to a new location. Open the contentscript.js file in the new location and scroll to the bottom. Change http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/ to https://www.gavatar.com/avatar/ and save the file. Open the extensions page and select "Load Unpacked" and select the new extension location.
