Avoid toggling between webpages and Anki to create each card, instead use this extension to create cloze deletions (fill in the blanks) from directly within a webpage.
Ensure Anki is open in the background. Simply highlight a sentence or block of text, click the extension icon (pin as a favorite for quick access), then highlight the words you want to include in the cloze deletion. Upon clicking the "create card" button, a new card will be immediately added to your specified deck. The whole process now takes less than 10 seconds.
This extension requires the AnkiConnect add-on to function properly. I am not the developer of AnkiConnect. The add-on may be found on the Anki add-on website, its code is 2055492159.
As of now, this extension allows for quick card creation from the vast majority of websites, including popular test-prep sites and question banks. Even if a site's text is not accessible, you may still use the extension to quickly create cards yourself from within the browser. There are plans for future development to add Google Slides functionality as well as PDF functionality.
Keys to correct use:
1. Ensure you have installed AnkiConnect (from Anki website, code 2055492159).
2. Ensure Anki is open in the background.
3. Your deck name must be exact, if it is a sub-deck, then you need to type the whole deck path as it appears in the Anki Browse field. (Example: if you want to add cards to "subdeck", then you would type "MainDeckName::SubDeckName")
4. If cards are not being sent to your deck, confirm the correct AnkiConnect address. Go to Tools>AddOns>AnkiConnect>Config and copy the "WebCorsOriginList" URL (should match the default)
