Use text to speech to read any webpage, Google Doc, PDF, or book with natural sounding voices.
Using the Google wavenet voices requires perms to "Access and make changes to data on all websites." This will likely give you pause, it certainly did for me. I have now taken the plunge to the other side, and I bring back news. The reason this extension asks for these perms is to facilitate the insanely unhinged way that this developer (it's almost certainly a single dev on this project) has chosen to access the Google TTS API for free. I am genuinely in awe of how ad hoc, how absurd yet deeply logical this extension is. You can revoke the perms afterwards, but I highly recommend setting up the Google wavenet voices just once to see what it does. Gave me a good laugh. The voices are okay, pretty much does what I needed.
good extention , their is a variety of voices but sometimes it would stop working tho , , its helful is you need to read papers for school .
I've always had a really hard time reading because of my ADHD. I've been looking for a Text to speech reader for a bit, and this is probably the best one ive used. 1. Because its completely free (a lot of Text to speech readers make you pay) and 2. because you can speed the reader up (i tried some other google extension tts readers and they didn't let you speed the voice up)
