CALLIDO Research Tool for Student
Fine but kinda zesty tbh
Ok no one asked
I think this tool was pretty helpful with research for my EE, but I think there is a major problem with the callido research tool - it isn't free software. I don't mean "free" as in free of charge, as although this software is subscription based, I don't really have a problem with paying for software. Rather, I mean "free" as in freedom. To understand the concept, you should think of "free" as in "free speech", not "free beer". Unfortunately, the callido research tool does not provide its users with any of the four essential freedoms, which makes it nonfree software. Nonfree software presents a number of problems for the user, as software should work for the user in the way the user wants it to, rather than be controlled by the developers of the program. I really think that this is a helpful tool, but as it is nonfree software that harms its users, I cannot recommend this tool to others. I would gladly recommend this tool to my friends if a future version of this tool is able to provide its users with all four essential freedoms, though. (a list of the four essential freedoms is available at www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html)
